Armistice

For anyone who doesn't live in the UK or Europe and wonders what all the poppies are about, you could do a lot worse than watch these clips, one of which is from my friend Dev's blog:

It's the second clip - if you want to see the really poignant bit fast forward to about 13 minutes -I warn you, it's unbearably sad.

WOW, two in one day!

One of the things which has happened since I last blogged (well, before today!) is that I've become a mega Doctor Who fan. And who can blame me, when the marvellous Mr David Tennant was the good Doctor? Alas, his tenure has now come to an end (but the sharp-eyed among you will have noticed my tribute picture). Mr Tennant, however is far from idle. He is an ambassador for the AICR (Association for International Cancer Research) http://www.aicr.org.uk/ and Patron of Headway Essex http://headwayessex.org.uk/ which aims to help people with head injuries and those who love them. He has some rather special things on offer to raise money for Headway: http://www.headwayessex.org.uk/fundraising/merchandise.php and a wonderful book (which I have), the proceeds of which are going to help AICR: http://www.davidtennantbook.com/ Anyway, if you're a big fan of the ex-Time Lord, why not treat yourself?
